Maternity care - Pre & Post Natal Massage
Holding Tummy

Pregnancy is a very special time in a woman’s life that can be supported with massage and aromatherapy.

Reducing stress, relieving tension, pain and discomforts, easing up anxiety and fears, reducing the impact of ‘baby blues’ or preventing depression in post-natal care, are some of the benefits.

Pregnancy Massage can release muscular tension of the upper back, shoulders, lower back and hips, it increases circulation aiding distribution of essential nutrients and fluids to all the major organs of the body including the placenta.

Aromatherapy provides us with natural remedies for morning sickness and other pregnancy discomforts such as swollen legs and feet, constipation, hemorrhoids, breast problems, c-section scar and it is remarkable in preparing your body for birth with perineum massage oils and in healing the area after delivery.

Regular massage during pregnancy can be relaxing for both mother and baby. The “happy hormones” released by the mother when she is relaxed and enjoying her massage have a very beneficial effect on the baby too. Research has shown that massage has a direct impact on lowering the levels of stress hormones  and can boost “feel good” neurotransmitters like dopamine, serotonin, endorphins and oxytocin (a pain reducing hormone which provides natural pain relief during labour).

Perineal self-massage is also very important to prepare for birth. Veronica offer guidance (see e-booklet bellow and Perineal Massage Oil (order one directly with Veronica).

With her calm and caring approach Veronica offers deeply relaxing and nurturing sessions supporting the mother’s connection with her baby.

Her slow and soothing therapeutic massage is safe in all stages of pregnancy assisting you though the emotional changes as well the physical. Mother of two, Veronica is passionate about natural and active birth and loves sharing with mothers-to-be her knowledge and massage techniques for preparing for birth and for use during labour.

At the beginning of your treatment you will have time to talk and express any concern so that your treatment can be tailored to your needs. The session can include full body or upper body only massage with focus on your back or any area that needs particular attention.

Depending on your needs Veronica can also complement your treatment with Facial Reflexology, cupping, Indian Head Massage or clinical and subtle aromatherapy.  Facial Reflexology Sorensensistem is a great therapy in pregnancy and for stimulating contractions; it has a hormone-regulating effect as well as a tranquilizing effect. Specific points can be used during labour and to ease pain.
